FROM THE BOARD CO-PRESIDENTS

Aimée Bell and Sara Goodman, Co-Presidents

The Board of Directors believes that a strong and innovative academic program utilizing the resources of New York City–one that includes a compelling visual, performing, and creative arts emphasis and has an appreciation for diversity–will allow Greenwich Village High School to thrive. The Board is committed to bringing an exceptional school to families citywide. We hope parents and friends will work with us as admissions ambassadors, committee volunteers, and financial supporters.

Our founding vision for Greenwich Village High School comes from a practical need. Competition for available seats in New York City’s independent high schools has been intense and continues to rise. While downtown is known for the quality and range of its independent K-8 schools, it has, until now, offered few high school options. With the unprecedented increase in families with children downtown, residents truly need a neighborhood independent high school. We further see the need for an innovative school that draws students from across New York City. Greenwich Village High School will help address this clear need and at the same time allow students a unique educational opportunity
